I am currently in Israel enjoying a much needed vacation. The upcoming E2 visa for Israelis is a hot topic around here, and once people know what I do, the questions start coming.
During my stay here, I have communicated with the Israeli Embassy in Tel Aviv, in an effort to get some answers about the future filing process. I have to say that this Embassy is one of the most efficient to respond and communicate back, and I am sure it will be very useful in the future.
This is the response i received from this post:
Dear Jacob,
President Obama signed the legislation that would add Israel to the list of countries eligible for non-immigrant investor visas in the United States.The legislation, which was spearheaded by Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.), would grant Israelis E-2 investor visas, allowing them to live and work in the U.S. in order to be closer to their investments. The legislation, signed on June 11, 2012, passed the House and the Senate in recent months.
However, the implementation of this visa category will not be effective until the terms and conditions of the final agreement are determined between the two countries. The Embassy will issue a press release as soon as the E2 investor visa is available to Israeli nationals. Once the E2 visa for Israeli nationals goes into effect, we will be happy to answer questions.

So timing is still unclear but I hope it will happen soon. Let’s wait for that press release, we will keep you posted as always.
